BRIEF STOCKTON UPDATE

As you can see from the pictures below, we are making progress on the Stockton development. The landscaping crew worked the day after Thanksgiving to give the road frontage a facelift. The office is actually visible now.

Before

After
There's the office (behind the vehicles) with it's new paint job.

Forms for the pit walls are set and ready to pour the following morning.

The dense fog didn't deter the concrete contractor from pouring the walls.

Once again, you can see the additional re-inforcement in the concrete due to the California seismic loads. This will be a concrete trough that will act as a secondary containment for the manifold. There is no reason to drive heavy machinery on it, but if we have to, we can (and yes, that is sarcasm).

As of today, the pits and raceways in the building are poured. Next, the concrete crew will be working on the concrete aprons for the (18) 30,000 gallon tanks on the interior of the building. Because of time constraints, the building is being constructed from the inside out. We will set the tanks prior to the walls and roof being erected. We're hopeful that this strategy will keep us on schedule.

Jerry Stole my Office Pictures

While navigating the LIQUID website recently I found out Dr. Jerry stole my thunder. Our NCRS blogger was seen snapping photo's at the corporate office the other day. Don't be surprised if you see me wandering around in a field somewhere taking photo's of crops and stuff. What comes around goes around.

Anyway, I have a few photo's of the Corporate office to share. I don't think these are duplicates, so enjoy.
Looking up from the back of the building at what will be the exercise room and open office area.

I've taken a photo from this same location numerous times now. I think this is a pretty cool shot. The photo doesn't do it justice.

Lobby area prepped for concrete. The elevator shaft is the block structure to the right.

Lobby area from the opposite direction. Here you can see the opening for the elevator doors.

Entrance from the lobby into the Ag-Tech Center.

This is the warehouse. We can fit a lot of office trailers in here. About 3000 sq. ft. worth.

Private offices. The contractors have been working hard to get this closed in by the end of the month.

And the front elevation.

Now it's time to take a look at the progress in Stockton.

The office got a paint job. Looks kind of dark in the photo, but it's the signature LIQUID green. Now for the trim.

3/4" plywood used for wall forms. Walls were poured today (11/21/12). Hope everything went well.

Excavators prepping for the concrete containment along the rail spur. The rail manifold will be fastened to this concrete pad. The pad will serve as the secondary containment as well as a walkway.

Getting closer. These walls will be the raceway pits on the interior of the building. The building foundation is being constructed from the inside out so we can set tanks sooner. I think er... I hope it's a good strategy.

That's all for now. Happy Thanksgiving!

Projects Progressing

Does anyone else feel like there's a lot going on? I do, and I'm enjoying watching the progress. I come from a construction background so of course, I get satisfaction from the visible growth I see. ACLF has been exceeding 20-percent growth year after year but not everyone notices it, because it's on paper. The success of the company has become quite evident to the public as they pass by the new corporate office project. We hope this arrouses their curiosity and they start to inquire or maybe go home and Google "LIQUID" so they can find out what it's all about.

WILLIAMS EXPANSION

The rock drive the excavator put in place last week will help keep the site mud free for the duration of construction.

The concrete mats for the tanks are complete. The only thing left to do is pour the walkways between the mats. We'll also be working the rinkles out of the liner on the sidewalls to make that look pretty.

Tank #3, ring #1. If they keep on pace with the erection schedule of the first 2 tanks, this should be complete in about 6 weeks.

STOCKTON DEVELOPMENT

Hey guys, where are you? Must be break time.

The seismic loads in California call for extreme measures when it comes to foundations. How many stories is this building going to be?

A re-rod crossroads.

The final product before the first inspection.

The first re-rod inspection (by a private company) passed with flying colors. The second re-rod inspection (by the county) passed as well. Yes, that's right, the inspector inspected the inspector.

Redneck pool? No, this is the concrete truck washout. Rather than washing out on the ground, the trucks are required to contain the washout material and dispose of it upon completion of the project.

CORPORATE OFFICE

View into the board room. On the left it looks like the start of the overnight accomodations.

View into the main concourse from the second level.

Pretty cool shot of the open office area. This open office with high ceilings and lot's of natural light will provide a great work environment.

View to the west from the second level open office area. If they made these operating windows, it could motivate some of the hunters to come to work on opening day.

The silo will surely be an attention grabber. Maybe they'll let us fill it with water and utilize the bridge as a dive platform.

CONSTRUCTION GALORE

CORPORATE OFFICE PROJECT

Office construction is moving at a rapid pace. The goal is to have it closed in (temporarily) in the next couple of weeks.

Standing in the vicinity of the work out area on the second level. Although swimming provides great health benefits, the pool you see here will not be part of the final floor plan.

Here is a photo of the private office area. Looking out the windows to the west, the occupants of these offices will have views of the green roof.

This is a nice shot of the glass silo that will serve as the library/media center. Notice the walkway extending over the lobby, overlooking the silo.

Inside shot of the Ag-Tech Center. The visquine walls should cut down on the wind, but I bet a space heater will still be inviting in February.

  WILLIAMS EXPANSION

The New Tank Farm
I'm wondering if this was built for highway traffic. What you see here is 5/8" re-bar making up 12" x 12" squares in 2 layers. Not to mention, it will be covered with 10" of concrete.

Early Morning Pour
The first 6 mats were poured last week. The next 6 will be poured this week followed by the walkways between the mats.

Birds eye view of the formed mats in the tank farm. The concrete trucks are lined up and ready to go.

This is the storm water retention pond at the back of the property. The little bulldozer you see in the hole is actually a big bulldozer.

The new 500,000 gallon tanks are 62' in diameter. I think we can fit quite a few of them in the pond. Kind of puts it into perspective. Maybe we can turn it into a state park when it's finished.

STOCKTON DEVELOPMENT

The ground breaking is official. It's been a long time coming but construction is underway as of 10/29/2012. To celebrate the ground breaking, the excavator broke up some asphalt.
The asphalt has been cut and removed from the area where the building is located. Must be our General Contractor didn't like the local hotel accomodations. He decided to move his RV (look in the background) on site for the duration of the project.

Believe it or not, they got rain in Stockton. The gods were waiting for construction to begin. Fortunately, it's not enough to slow progress.

The excavator is digging trenches for the underground plumbing lines. The containment trenches will be installed prior to the building. This concrete trench will act as the secondary containment for the rubber hose, transferring product from the rail to the building.

This photo looks east toward the neighboring businesses and the rail spur.
We are hopeful the Stockton project moves at a rapid pace. Anticipated move in date is late December. We'll keep our fingers crossed. The contractors are working diligently to meet our expectations.
